To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame is hosting a Women’s Heritage Tea, Saturday, March 16 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Five women from Lea County will be honored at the event. The event is free to the public.
The honorees are Sandra Newell, distinguished educator and administrator; Evelyn Rising, NMJC Board Member; Dorothy Runnells, long-time Lea County resident; Karen Salb, owner and artistic director of Maciolek School of Dance and fine arts patron; and Irene Salgado, community leader and former NMJC Board Member.
The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. High tea will be served about 3:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to wear their favorite, silliest, and most beautiful hat for a chance to win a door prize.
