From January 13 to January 17, approximately 125 fourth-grade students as well as Tiny Tots, and teachers from Broadmoor Elementary and Jefferson Elementary are preparing to perform in NDI New Mexico’s Route 66: Legends of the Road!. The performance will be presented on Friday, January 17 at 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at R.N. Tydings Auditorium, 1332 E. Schatbauer St., Hobbs, NM 88240. Admission is free!

This is NDI New Mexico’s tweltfh year in Hobbs. Led by NDI New Mexico’s Residency Artistic Associate, Christiana Barnett-Murphey, and Residency Musician Adela Bransford, the curriculum of the one-week residency encourages healthy attitudes, self-discipline, and creativity – and provides students with an opportunity to perform in front of their peers and community.

Route 66: Legends of the Road! offers a creative and fun homage to our beloved Route 66, with its music created from coast to coast through our great cities and the wild west. The show and supporting curriculum will help students and classroom teachers make content connections between what they learn in the classroom to the concepts that students will be dancing about in their performances.
