Additional Information

Bring your family and plan to attend the grand opening of the new exhibit at the Western Heritage Museum: Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body” and “Zoo in You”. This will be a free family fun day for the public.

Grossology uses sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to answer questions about runny noses, body odor and much more. Take a “Tour du Nose” to explore 10 nasal features. Play the pinball game “Gas Attack” by scoring off bumpers dressed up as food items that cause gas. Mimic the build up of acid indigestion by causing the “Burp Machine” to release a giant belch. Climb a large-scale replica of human skin, and discover other mysterious ways your body’s biology does what it needs to do to keep you healthy.

Zoo in You: The Human Microbiome takes you into the world of the trillions of microbes that live inside your body. Guests will learn who our constant microbial companions are, where they live, how diverse they are, and in what ways scientists are discovering just how important they are to our personal health.

The exhibits will run January 25 – May 10.
