he Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame presents a free Family Fun Day, Saturday, April 27, from 10:00am until 3:00pm. The event is in conjunction with “Goose Bumps: The Science of Fear.”
Tim Cole, owner of the Austin Reptile Service, will bring a large variety of indigenous snakes with him, and speak and demonstrate the snakes at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Cole has been collecting reptiles and amphibians since he was six years old. He traveled the world collecting and studying snakes of all kinds. He was one of the founding members of the Austin Herpetological Society, before devoting his full attention to his business, the Austin Reptile Service, an organization dedicated to the conservation of native Texas reptiles through education.
Admission for the day is free! Demonstrations and guided tours of the exhibit “Goose Bumps: The Science of Fear” will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. The Wizard of Oz – 80th Anniversary of the Film’s Release – will begin at 2 pm.
